Welcome to Clapham Skip Hire. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our skip hire services. By booking and using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities.
1. Booking and Payment
To hire a skip from Clapham Skip Hire, you must complete our online or telephone booking form. By submitting a booking request, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. Upon booking, you are required to make a payment in full to confirm your reservation.
- Accepted Payment Methods: We accept Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers, and Cash (for telephone bookings).
- Payment Terms: Full payment is required at the time of booking unless alternative arrangements have been made.
- Invoices: An invoice will be sent to your provided email address for your records and future reference.
2. Delivery and Collection
Delivery
Our delivery team will deliver the skip to the specified location on the agreed date and time. It is your responsibility to ensure that there is adequate space and access for the skip at the delivery site. Should circumstances prevent timely delivery, we reserve the right to reschedule the delivery at a mutually convenient time.
Collection
At the end of the hire period, our team will collect the skip. Please ensure that no waste is left inside the skip, as this may result in additional fees. If you need to extend the hire period, please contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled collection time to make the necessary arrangements.
3. Use of the Skip
You are responsible for using the skip in a responsible manner and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The skip must not be used for the disposal of hazardous or illegal items. Additionally, you must ensure that the skip is not overloaded and is used within its specified capacity.
- Maximum Load Weight: Please adhere to the maximum load weight specified for your chosen skip size to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Proper Loading: Distribute weight evenly within the skip and avoid exceeding height restrictions to maintain stability and prevent accidents.
4. Prohibited Items
For environmental and safety reasons, the following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:
- Hazardous Waste: This includes chemicals, asbestos, batteries, paint, oils, and other toxic materials that require special disposal methods.
- Medical Waste: Any contaminated or infectious materials must be disposed of through appropriate medical waste channels.
- Illegal Items: Items that are illegal to possess or dispose of under local, state, or federal laws are prohibited.
- Electronic Waste: Large electronic appliances should be disposed of through certified e-waste recycling facilities.
- Tires and Glass: Due to recycling restrictions, tires and glass items are not allowed in our skips.
Improper disposal of these items can lead to significant environmental harm and legal consequences. Clapham Skip Hire reserves the right to refuse service if prohibited items are detected.
5. Liability
While Clapham Skip Hire strives to provide reliable and safe services, we are not liable for any damage, loss, or injury incurred during the use of our skips. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Property damage during delivery or collection.
- Personal injury caused by improper loading or overloading of the skip.
- Loss of property placed within the skip.
Insurance: We recommend that customers have appropriate insurance coverage for the contents being disposed of. Clapham Skip Hire does not provide insurance for the items placed within the skip.
Responsibility: Customers are responsible for ensuring that the loading of the skip is safe, complies with local regulations, and does not pose a risk to public safety.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
We understand that plans can change, and you may need to cancel your skip hire reservation. Our Cancellation and Refunds policy is designed to accommodate such changes while ensuring fairness to both parties.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time to avoid cancellation fees.
- Refunds: Refunds will be processed within 7 business days of cancellation, minus any applicable fees as outlined in our cancellation policy.
- No-Show Policy: If the customer is not available to receive the skip at the scheduled delivery time, it will be considered a no-show, and the full hire cost may be charged.
For cancellations made within 24 hours of delivery, a fee equivalent to 50% of the total hire cost will apply. This fee covers the administrative costs and potential loss of business due to the short notice.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Clapham Skip Hire operates. Any disputes arising from the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this area.
8. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Clapham Skip Hire reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the Terms periodically for updates. Continued use of our services after any changes constitute acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Acceptance of Terms
By using Clapham Skip Hire's services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using our services.
